Things that I believe
- I believe that all students deserve to receive a fantastic education that fits their needs, and should receive help so they can find a career that makes them happy and that they can be great at.
- I believe that people are in control of their behaviors.
- I believe that thoughts affect feelings and that mindfulness can help anyone to control both.
- I believe in and respect the freedom that people have to make choices for themselves and their mental health care.
- I believe all students can reach their personal goals and can obtain a fulfilling life with desire, time, and effort.
- I think school counselors should be non-judging and help students solve their own problems.
- believe that the people who need the most help should get the most help, & that everyone should get some help.
- I know that gifted kids need help too.
- I know that physical health, social health, and emotional health are all one system.
- I don't think there's any one right way to do things.
- I value creativity.
- I want you to be you.
- Nobody should have to take on the world alone.
- It gets better.

Why do people talk to counselors?
1.↬ Everyone needs help sometimes!
Humans are made to be social and we all need to know we're important, and sometimes we just need to talk it out.
2..↬ Sometimes it is helpful to have someone to talk to who isn't involved in the problem.
As a school counselor I talk to students and teachers about all kinds of things.
3. ↬ I'm specifically trained to help people.
I also training in learning and study skills, career development, families and relationships, mental health, social struggles, and spiritual development. Not only do I want to help, I am trained to help you with that you need.
★ My job is to listen and help you find solutions you want to try,
not to solve your problems for you. ★
★ I keep things said to me private. ★
Privacy means a lot to me.
I know that in order to really help, you need to be able to trust me,
I keep our conversations private. don't talk to people about what you tell me because I am here to help you.
I promise I will always do my best to show you the respect and trust you deserve.
↬You should know that there are some exceptions to privacy.
I will never go over your head and speak without permission unless it is a safety issue or emergency.
- If you ask me to tell someone what you said, or if I need to do something to make sure you or someone else stays safe (like in an emergency situation), I will share what you said so I can make sure no one gets hurt, but I'll do my best to limit the details to what is necessary for safety and tell as few people as possible.
↬ Sometimes other people can hear.
If you're talking to me on a video chat, I can't control things like who can hear you at your house. If we're in a class with other people, I can't control them either, so be mindful of who else is around before you share something private.
